About the Codling Moth
A small gray moth whose caterpillar is the proverbial worm in the apple. Caterpillars tunnel to the core of apples, pears, and walnuts. One of the most important orchard pests in the world. Control methods include mating disruption with synthetic pheromones and a natural virus that infects only codling moth caterpillars.
