About the White Admiral
A graceful woodland butterfly, black with a bold white band across both wings. It glides between trees with brief wing beats. Its caterpillars feed only on honeysuckle growing in shade. They overwinter inside a leaf folded into a small shelter. In Britain it is found mainly in southern woods. Adults often feed on bramble flowers.
