About the Black Witch
A large, dark moth with a wingspan that can approach that of a small bat. In Mexican and Caribbean folklore it has long been associated with death and bad luck, but in some places it is seen as a sign of good fortune. Often found resting in buildings during the day. It migrates north and strays reach Canada. Caterpillars feed on acacias and other legumes.
