About the Ulysses Butterfly
The iconic butterfly of tropical Queensland, Australia. Their electric blue upperwings flash dramatically in flight. The emblem of Queensland tourism. Their 14 cm wingspan makes them one of the largest swallowtails. They are attracted to blue objects, including clothing, sometimes landing on people. Named after the Greek hero Odysseus (Ulysses in Latin). Caterpillars feed on Euodia trees.
