About the Comet Moth
One of the largest silk moths in the world, found only in the rainforests of Madagascar. Its bright yellow wings carry eyespots and very long tails that trail behind it like a comet. Research suggests long tails in moths help deflect attacks from bats. Adults cannot feed and live only a few days. Bred widely in captivity.
