About the Hercules Moth
The largest moth in Australia and one of the largest in the world by wing area. Females have long tails on the hindwings and translucent windows on each wing. Like other silk moths the adults have no working mouthparts and live only a short time on stored fat. Its large green caterpillars feed on rainforest trees.
