About the Lime Hawk-moth
Their green-tinged wings blend perfectly with lime tree leaves. Their caterpillars are spectacular — bright green with diagonal yellow stripes and a blue horn at the tail end. The caterpillar changes color to purplish-grey before pupating. They can be found in city parks where lime trees are planted. Their pupa has a distinctive looped proboscis case. One of the most commonly encountered hawk-moths in Europe.
