About the Oleander Hawk-moth
A large hawk-moth with intricate swirling patterns of green, olive, and pink on its wings, excellent camouflage among leaves. Its caterpillars feed on oleander, a highly toxic plant, and also on periwinkle. They show blue eyespots when threatened. Adults migrate north into Europe in summer, occasionally reaching Britain.
